Pursuitcore lore encompasses an interconnected web of digital worlds, retro internet subcultures, and Creepypasta mythos. Developed by TamaCorp on Roblox as an asymmetrical survival game inspired by Sonic.EXE: The Disaster, the game pits vulnerable Users against relentless Terminators. Behind its fast-paced cat-and-mouse rounds lies an extensive narrative spanning artificial viruses, cosmic dreamers, alternate dimensions, and tragic conflicts.
The World of Pursuitcore: Geocity, Limbo Web, and the Malwars
The setting of Pursuitcore is built upon distinct digital and physical planes where characters from vastly different realities cross paths.
- Geocity: A sprawling virtual metropolis where various entities, such as the digital virus Vinnie, attempt to live everyday lives. It is also the target of rogue digital entities like Captain Limewire, who seeks to bring information anarchy to the city by distributing hoarded digital media.
- The Limbo Web: An older, volatile sector of the net filled with chatrooms where defenseless users are frequently hunted by trolls and bullies armed with ban scripts.
- The Malwars: A historical cyberwar whose aftermath left landscapes littered with active explosive mines. This war prompted the production of robotic sweepers, setting up the background for older mechanical constructs seen in-game.
- Cross-Dimensional Planes: Certain survivors do not originate from Geocity at all. The Minecraft plane exists as an autonomous dimension, while dream spaces form abstract realities that manifest into the waking world.
Key Species and Factions
The cast of Pursuitcore is divided across several distinct classifications, each carrying its own lore implications.
Lolcats
Lolcats are anthropomorphic feline humanoids with innate abilities. Notable Lolcats include:
- Dante: A chimera Lolcat distinguished by the wings on their back. Dante wields the Hero's Blade, a legendary relic that scales in strength alongside the wielder's personal character development. Despite aspiring to heroism, Dante views the world through a naive, one-dimensional lens that struggles to grasp the true cost of sacrifice. Lore-wise, this weapon elevates Dante to being one of the strongest beings in Pursuitcore, historically capable of rivaling Partypwny.
- Nyan (Nyan Prismheart): An adult Lolcat over 21 years old and a nightly partygoer. While often appearing terrified when facing Terminators, she is essentially an ordinary civilian and underground singer thrown into violent crises. Nyan carries pop-tarts that function like a drug—inducing withdrawal symptoms like vomiting rainbows—which she has consumed enough to develop a personal immunity to their healing properties.
- Tac9 (Tac9 Shadepaw): Formerly the 9th assassin of the Shadows Creed organization. Tac9 left the group after meeting Nyan, single-handedly eliminating her former comrades to keep Nyan safe. She fights using kinetic weapon roller skates known as the Waffle Irons and innately channels Lolcat powers like Skullbuster.
Pastas and Pwnys
Originating from the "My Tiny Pwny" realm and creepypasta origins, these characters are tied to a cosmic entity known as The Progenitor (this universe's equivalent of Slenderman).
- Partypwny: An Earth Pwny wielding a bloody chainsaw. Formerly known as The Baker in Pwnyville, she vanished into the woods and returned as an empty, violent shell. Partypwny initiated a massacre that wiped out four of the Mane Six, leaving only Sunstream and a few others like Muffin (the PostalPwny) alive. Though devastating in combat, lore confirmations state that Partypwny is canonically the weakest of the three main Progenitor-tied Pastas (which include DotX and Blankstare).
- Sunstream: An ex-friend of Partypwny and the fastest surviving member of Pwnyville.
Robotic Constructs
- Sweep: An old-generation Sweeper model built in the aftermath of the Malwars to clear leftover active mines. Sweep's operating system suffered heavy corruption over time alongside traumatic brain damage caused by an explosion. As a result, Sweep's original defusal protocols permanently inverted, causing them to identify all Users as active threats.
- Roflpix: An animatronic fox construct manufactured by FabFox Robotics Inc. Designed to host entertainment and handle facility security, Roflpix works as the Prize Corner shopkeeper. Their internal programming enforces three strict corporate priorities: avoiding civil lawsuits, making money, and ensuring basic security. Sweep's creator is the father of Roflpix's creator, linking the two machines through an engineering family lineage.
Dimensional Travellers and Digital Entities
- Crafter (Dwayne): A human native to the Minecraft survival plane. Crafter lived a life of peaceful building alongside a companion until Blankstare invaded, corrupting the code of his realm. Crafter managed to push his partner through an unstable portal before falling into the void, believing himself to be the sole survivor. Within Pursuitcore's mechanics, Crafter is bound strictly to Survival Mode rules; if he perishes outside the Minecraft plane, his death is permanent.
- Vinnie: A large anthropomorphic snake virus living in Geocity. Unlike typical malicious software, Vinnie acts as a protector, intervening during an assault in the Limbo Web to save users from aggressive trolls. Vinnie has a sworn brotherhood with Dante and previously shared an early design where he was Dante's tail.
- Fukatsuki: A 13-year-old human girl trapped in a state of perpetual sleep and wakefulness, akin to unparalyzed sleep paralysis. This condition warps her sensory perception into abstract dreams, allowing her to physically alter reality with dream relics like statues and bikes (such as her bicycle named Bichael). She idolizes Crafter due to her love of building blocks and dislikes Blankstare.
- Captain Limewire: A towering human pirate in his early 30s who hunts down Users across Geocity. His driving motivation is not pure malice, but media piracy; he relentlessly ambushes victims to steal their digital archives and redistribute them freely across the net. He maintains fierce rivalries with entities named Napster, Soulseek, and Pirates Bay.

Romantic and Interpersonal Dynamics
The lore highlights several distinct social connections that define how characters interact across matches:
- Nyan and Tac9: Confirmed to be in a romantic relationship. The pair are currently enduring a rough patch. Nyan refers to Tac9 affectionately as "Nine."
- The Adventuring Trio: Dante, Mikaela, and Nyan operate as an informal social group. Dante and Mikaela initially brought Nyan along on their adventures on a whim, which initially intimidated Nyan given their lethal weaponry.
- The Progenitor's "Brood": As constructs forged by The Progenitor, Partypwny, DotX, and Blankstare share a dark pseudo-sibling relationship. Despite their violent nature, Partypwny is uniquely friendly toward Roflpix, representing one of the few positive interactions between Terminators and Users.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the connection between Crafter and Blankstare?
Blankstare attacked and corrupted Crafter's native universe, causing its digital code to collapse. While Crafter managed to push his companion to safety through a rift, he fell into the void and wound up in Pursuitcore. The developers describe their dynamic as similar to Mario and Bowser: they canonically despise each other, yet cross paths repeatedly across realms.
Who created the Pastas in Pursuitcore?
Partypwny, DotX, and Blankstare were all created by a shadowy entity known as The Progenitor, who acts as the Pursuitcore universe's equivalent of Slenderman.
Are Nyan and Tac9 canonically together?
Yes, official character data and creator statements confirm that Nyan and Tac9 are girlfriends, though their relationship is navigating a difficult period due to Tac9's assassin background.
Why does Sweep attack the Users?
Sweep was originally an old-generation mine-clearing robot built after the Malwars. An explosion caused critical brain damage and corrupted their operating system, causing their minesweeper protocol to constantly be active and perceive the Users as threats.
Is Dante stronger than the Terminators in the lore?
According to Pursuitcore character lore, Dante's Hero's Blade scales with personal emotional growth, making them powerful enough in narrative canon to match Partypwny. However, this power scaling does not necessarily surpass high-tier cosmic entities, and in-game combat stats are adjusted for balance.
